Most everyone has at least one UFO, and the quilting group I belong to on West Island (Fairhaven, MA) is not immune to it. I get together with these wonderful women every Monday during the summer and we have tried to put together a quilt a year to be raffled off to benefit the West Island Improvement Association. Last year we started one and just never got it done. We had a great idea to make a quilt using Joan Shay's Petal Play. Each of us picked a different flower to do (mine was the geranium) and some of us actually finished them before the end of the summer. The quilt just never ended up getting put together.
Well the top is small, just a wall hanging, but it is finally put together. The sashing and borders are done with a Batik Handpaints-Forest from Hoffman. I absolutely love this fabric!!!
This coming Monday will be decision making time on how to quilt it. I think I'm going to suggest to crosshatch around the flowers and maybe do some feathers in the border. I'll let you know what the final decision is next week!
