Annette's Quilt- From the Beginning:

My close friend Annette recently asked me to make a quilt as a wedding gift for her neice who lives in Arizona. She wanted a throw-size quilt in southwestern colors, but left everything else regarding design up to me. With such open guidelines, my creativity can run free and I am fine with that, but for many quilters, "Where do I begin?" is what comes to mind. In the coming weeks, I am going to share with you the steps I go through along the way from fabric selection to quilt design, and construction, the works. So, follow along with me as I take you through the making of a quilt!
The photo above is the completed center of the quilt and is made up of 16 blocks. Just a little photo to show you what direction I'm going. Stay tuned for more! D

I could not have pictured this better in my own mind's eye. The composition, the color and the mood are perfect! I know that my niece will treasure it always! Dora translated my thoughts into this lovely piece of snuggle-able art. Thank-you Dora!by Annette on 06 July 2010 at 4:44 p.m.
